About

Sophie Grenier

Before becoming an independent curator, Sophie Grenier built an international career in finance, first specialising in complex financial products and later in capital raising for leading asset managers.

After beginning her career at Société Générale and JP Morgan, she launched her first entrepreneurial venture in London, identifying outstanding US investment managers while anticipating major shifts in global financial markets.

Throughout her career, she developed a remarkable ability to recognise emerging trends long before they became mainstream — from the rise of electronic trading in the late 1990s to the rapid expansion of sustainable finance in the 2010s.

An entrepreneur by nature, she founded a Nature-based Solutions company in 2020, bringing together investors, corporations and public institutions around long-term climate initiatives. Working closely with local authorities across France, the company supported the planting of hundreds of thousands of trees in ten municipalities, further deepening her understanding of the relationship between territories, ecosystems and long-term stewardship.

This experience profoundly shaped her approach to culture and the arts.

Today, she brings the same strategic vision, international perspective and ability to identify exceptional talent to her curatorial practice — seeking out artists, materials and territories whose significance continues to grow over time.

Now based in the Drôme region — renowned for its centuries-old ceramic tradition — she develops curatorial projects centred on contemporary craft, with a particular focus on ceramics, glass, wood and stone. Through these projects, she creates meaningful dialogues between artists, institutions and territories, revealing how ancestral savoir-faire can inspire contemporary creation.
